- [voiceover] last week on the season. - this is like the lasttime i prepare for lsu. it's my last home game so, like, yeah, it's here. (grunts) - [player] for me to to look at the film when iwas a freshman, sophomore, to look at the film now,

i think i'm way better than i was before. especially coming off the injury. i move quicker, i'm more stronger, i gain a lot more weight, man. it's just, this is a blessing right here. - [coach] leaving a placebetter than you found it, you know, that's what wehave defined as success

and i said no matter what happens, this senior class is a success because they're leaving herebetter than they found it. - [announcer] droppedat the 23 yard line by mr. mike hilton. evan engram, touchdown, ole miss! - now, i'm a blessed man and a lot of it's because of you guys and you seniors that reallyturned this program around so

man, thank you. (rock music) (uplifting music) - me and my boy jay will, going one on one. - see what you gotta do is get your fingers all like, you get your fingers all nice and dry,

get that extra long. i'm telling you now, we do it real big for the country. - i got it. he ain't gonna get nothing, you watch. - who said i wasn't gonna pick it up? i'm a bad man from the country. - he got a good little win. he won't see doing nothing else.

he's decent, i ain't gonna lie. - are you kidding? that's a great game. had to fight back late. i fought back as hard as i can and came back and we draw. we had a draw. ♫ 'bout to go home ♫ and get in the bed

♫ go to sleep ♫ i'll be damned ♫ like a strike ♫ in the head ♫ roll the ball ♫ bowling ball ♫ hey ♫ - that's just a little sample. that's called, "bowling ball."

- that's just a little samplecalled, "bowling ball." - the egg bowl is usuallyone of the most divided occasions in our state. but today, we're playing on unified teams for special olympics mississippi. - we want to keep thistrophy here in oxford, sound good? (cheers) - jump ball!

(laughter) - see a little bit of thatlandshark d out there. - [voiceover] meanwhile, across campus, the traditional turkey bowl between the football managers and trainers would decide braggingrights for the holiday. - no punches to the face or groin. (blows whistle) (upbeat music)

- [player] red team isgonna pull it off again because of the blue teamdon't know how to score in the red zone. - [voiceover] althoughthe managers were able to pull out a victory, the unified rebels were still fighting, needing a touchdown with 25seconds left in the game. (car beeping) - this thanksgiving

every position group has goneto a family less fortunate and we came out of ourpockets to get them a dinner, you know, drinks, stuff like that. something to just help brighten their day cause, you know, a lot of peoplearen't blessed like we are. - the offensive line,we just going to walmart gonna pick up somethings for thanksgiving. - bananas, corn on the cob, dinner rolls, pineapples, cherries, sweetpotatoes. black pepper,

cranberry sauce, dish washingliquid, washing powder, dial soap. that's it. - has your mouth beenwatering the whole time we've been walkingaround the grocery store? - no. - be honest. - no, i'm for real! - if they're like me, they'regonna put down some corn

so you gotta have plenty of it. - straight. - oh! it been growling. you ain't gonna be hearin'nothing on the mike cause his stomach beengrowling the whole time. - man, that's messed up, bro. (mumbles) - we're linemen so,

i don't know if they'reused to eating like linemen. that's the way we shop anyways. - [c.j.] knowing just how much a lot of people look up to us and love watching us play, knowing that we do thingsoutside of just football, they really see that we're not just these big, rough and tough guys. we're all still kids at heart,

you know, we enjoy doing things like this. hey, how ya'll doing? - [male] i'm doing fine. how are you? - how you doin'? happy thanksgiving. c.j. moore. what's up, man? what's your name?

- what's up, man? - [player] what's your name? - [player] c.j. - [aj] she's shy. - no reason to be shy. ya'll wanna take a picture with us? that means you gotta leave the blanket. [woman] you can take the blanket with you. - yeah, get in there closer, ben.

ya'll get in there closer, get in there closer. - [woman] one, two, three. i took like five. - cool. - send them to me. (soft music) - [voiceover] with thefinal game of 2015 looming, the season is near its end. but for 20 rebel seniors,

life is only just beginning. the first class to graduateunder coach hugh freeze boasts numerous accomplishments: 33 wins in four years, four bowl games, and school records for points, touchdowns, total yards and passing yards. with so many memorablemoments to look back on, it's hard not to reminisce.

- bro, do you know this is our last home game, bro? - yeah. - that's crazy. it seems like just yesterday we was coming here everymorning for summer workouts. chief was my roommate, when we first moved in. first year we was in king colton,

that first summer me and chief. - you kinda get choked up and emotional at what this class has been able to do. especially the guys that were here when we got here. - [hugh] well, they're the first class to, that believed what we were saying and then chose to come join us and without kids buying into your vision,

into your core values, you know, none of this is possible. you don't go to four straight bowl games. - [c.j.] compared to wherewe were four years ago on to now, speaks volumes on how far we've come so it's just a matter of theyounger guys building on it. - [mike] you know, wegot a lot of young guys

that's really gonna help take this program to the next level. but the senior class, we really, we really raised the bar andguys are feeding off the energy and it's just gonna keep rising over the next couple years. - [voiceover] as the lastweek of practice finishes up, the seniors get a chance toceremoniously say goodbye to their teammates

with their senior walk. - we walking through the line of our former teammates sayingbye for the last time you know, the last time we practicinghere with the team for the regular season. - man, whole bunch of those. man, a whole bunch of good memories, man. never forget it.

rebel always, you know what i'm saying, but it's time to go. it's time to go. - one of them freshmengotta carry his helmet! - you know what i'mtalking about how you know, the last couple things, the seniors,, you know what i'm saying, going ahead and hold it down for them. you know, they deserve it.

- appreciate it. appreciate it, brother. - i got you, chief. i got both of ya'll. c'mon, chief! - hey guys thank you so much. i told you this the otherday, and i mean it, man. you've meant the world to me, to my family, to thisstaff, to this program.

you have totally changedole miss football. - want to see team, man. go ahead and say team on three. one, two, three! - we're gonna say team! - so, we all walking at once? - [mike] you know, nobody expected, expect to be where we at now, you know? we were expecting maybe acouple years down the road

to really become one of thetop programs in the country and i actually feel like it's still hasn't reached its potential. - [chief] as you reallyjust ball into the program and just start being accountable to others and the team is really feeling plays and lays the foundationfor us to rise to the top and now we're relevant. so it's a pretty good feeling.

- [chad] they have madethis program relevant now and that is what coachhas always preached about, that's what his goal andmission was when he got here. - [demarquis] you know, they about to graduate, stuff like that, you know, it's more than justfootball on those types of. they start to think about in life, what i'm gonna do next or what's gonna be my next step.

- [player] ole miss isdefinitely a place, you know, that i'll always love forever. i built a lot of great relationships here. this place has been tremendous to me and hopefully one day, i'llbe able to come back and contribute. - [mike] it is a big part of my heart over these four years. i really enjoyed it here you know.

the people i've met, the person i've became, it's all just reallydeveloping me as a person on and off the field. so see how much the ole miss community canreally affect your life. it's a blessing and i've loved these last four years. - [voiceover] a trip tostarkville, mississippi

for the ole miss rebels means two things: the end of the regular season and the renewal of a decades-old rivalry. entering davis wade stadium with the egg bowl trophy in hand, is a testament to avictory won 365 days ago. tonight, it will take only 60 minutes to decide who keeps it.

- [hugh] you know, it's hardto state in words, for sure. it's very valuable, very important. - [chad] personally, it means everything. coming here ten months ago, that's all people wanted to talk about was hey, you gotta beat mississippi state. - these moments together are running out. enjoy this electricatmosphere here tonight, but i promise you, it'sgonna get real quiet

when we jump on them quick. come out banging from the get go. (pep talk) - make this the most physicalgame you've ever played. - [coach] and we said all day today that we want to finish this thing strong and that egg bowl is right there and i'm telling you in coach luke's words, "put the ball down."

draw a line and take a stand. if they want it, come get it. come take it from us. they'll fight, they'llbattle, but you know what? for them to take it, they gottacross that line that's drawn and they gotta take it from you. and you have all thecontrol you need about that. so draw the darn line

and put the dang ball down and let's go. take a stand. - take a stand! - [announcer] 112th meeting, all time. ole miss holds a 62 to 43 tosix advantage in the series that dates back to 1901. - [voiceover] on the roadin a hostile environment, the need for an early break is paramount. the landshark defense wouldcreate their own break on

mississippi state's first possession. - [announcer] quarterbackdraw for dak prescott. he fumbles! it's on the ground! and the rebels have recovered at the 38. he went straight ahead, had about a five yard gain. chief brown is the onethat recovers the fumble. - hey! we got a great plan.

keep executing at a high level. - [voiceover] on their first possession, chad kelly and company would match the landshark tenacitywith offensive efficiency - [announcer] it's walton. walton down the field, inside the 30, tackled at the 27. first down, ole miss. pass over the middle caught at the 45

of mississippi state by quincy adeboyejo. kelly fakes, runs off theright side, he's at the 20, he's got a stiff arm, he'sto the ten, he's to the five. he is in the endzone! the rebels strike first, touchdown, ole miss! - do it again, oh! keep it rolling! - i pulled it, made one guy miss, shot the gap and then had to

make the safety miss and made him miss and scored. - [voiceover] a rebeloffense off to a hot start would get even hotter ontheir next possession. - [announcer] there's thesnap, a fake on a handoff, kelly with time, deep route far side, caughte there by stringfellow. he's got some running room. up to the 40, the 42 andknocked out of bounds.

walton clears out in motion, there's the snap, kelly wants to throw. now fires, it's gonna be caught by walton on the sidelineswith a first down at the 47. - my intent was to get on them early. we knew we were gonna take chances, throw the ball down the field and we did exactly what we wanted to do.

- [jordan] we knew that we were the better team and that if we just protected the ball, then i think that everything would work out in our favor. - [announcer] then back to throw, kelly deep out near side, it's treadwell who catches it at the 40. to the 35 and down at the 30.

mississippi state had a great angle on it. it was jamal peters, the safety, who flashed in front of it. the freshman looked like he had a pick. there's the snap. fakes the handoff. sprints out to his right, throws to the back corner of the endzone. it's caught and it's inthere for the touchdown!

stringfellow hauls it in for ole miss! - good job, string. - good job, good job fellas. - [voiceover] the firsthalf was being dominated by the rebels of ole miss. on offense, they could not be slowed. on defense, they could not be blocked. - [announcer] first andten with a 25 for the dogs. on the middle field, there's a snap.

he fakes the handoff, in the backfield. he's hit! clotheslined and droppedat the 18 yard line by marquis haynes. back to the throw, he'shit, is in trouble. he's going down again and the rebels got tremendous penetration. d.j. jones and robertnkemdiche both in there. third down and 13,

the snap to prescott in the pocket. he's in trouble, runs out and he's gonna be sacked back at the 36. it's channing ward. - oh, hey! them shorts came out again! hey, they coming! - [announcer] mississippi statewith a fourth down and one. if the rebel 35 will go for it here.

high snap to dak prescott. he pushes on the left side and i don't think he got it. ole miss will take overat the 35 yard line. - [jordan] seeing the defensestart out hot like that, getting us the ball quick, you know. that gives us a little rhythm and you know, we don't want to let them down so we gotta put up points on the board

and when we keep feedingoff each other like that, we're a really dangerous team. - [mike] man, we did ourpart in the back end. the defensive line got alot of pressure on them. made them throw errant ballsand got plenty of sacks also. - [announcer] ball in the left hands. high snap, he fakes thehandoff to holloway. wants to throw, he's hit in the backfield. breaks clear.

runs out to his right. hit as he fires it to, picked off by ole miss! down the sidelines goes bridges! he's taking it to the house! touchdown, rebels! - that's what i'm talking about! - you are already know thedrill in mississippi boy! - [voiceover] after aflurry of rebel scores,

a stunned davis wadestadium would grow quiet before the half. - [announcer] gun formation for kelly, first and ten for therebels at the bulldog 36. play action pass, hefires over the middle. he's got his man. that's stringfellow! stringfellow heading to the far side. he's at the ten, he's at the five!

he trots in the endzone! touchdown, ole miss! and what a throw by chad kelly who is putting on a plenty. at the break, the rebels lead 28 to three. - [coach] you are the most physical team on that field right now. offense, you gotta stay taking care of the ball.

keep running the football and put points on the board. the joy you feel right now, man just imagine what it feels like after it's over. so, let's stay locked in. great focus, faith in each other, energy.

energy. - [voiceover] the second half would bring a flash of hope for thetrailing maroon and white. leading their resurgencewas senior quarterback, dak prescott. - [announcer] second and goalfrom the one for prescott and he's gonna take the snap and run left and he is planted at the one yardline. - [referee] after video review,

it is a touchdown. - [announcer] the bulldogswith their first touchdown of the night! - he does multiple things. he can run, he can pass, you know, he's gotten a lotbetter in his passing game so, you know that's onething we really focus on is trying to make himthrow in a tight windows and try to get pressure on him to make him

throw some bad balls. - you definitely haveto respect when you're game planning for himcause he is their team. - [announcer] anotherlittle chip shot field goal, and the kick is on the way. and he git it easily. 28, 13 mississippi stategot it down to two scores. (electronic music) goes right.

throws downfield, got his man. caught at the 40 and up to the 43 yardline is quincy adeboyejo. wants to throw and he's got engram and it's gonna be hauledin as engram dances along the sidelines. 48 yarder is on the way and it is good!

- [voiceover] the rebel offense would rely on the ground attack to eek up and distance themselves from the bulldogs. - [announcer] gonna handit off, straight ahead, big room, 45, to the 50. breaking a tackle is akeem judd. he's at the 45, hardrunning by akeem judd. there's the snap and the handoff. they run right instead andyou got the first down,

wilkins runs over a dogto the 30 and down the 25. - big boy stuff on you! - that's called jack! that's called jack! - we jack built! we country built! - that's a big man! - [announcer] there's the snap. he hands it to jordanwilkins off the right side.

he's at the 30, to the 25, to the 20. one man to beat. he makes a sidestep tothe ten, to the five. he's in the endzone, here in the left corner! touchdown, jordan wilkins! and the rebels increase the lead. - the linebacker, i bethim, i'm gonna hit him, hit him with that right. over top.

went right up in there. - [announcer] prescottis in the pocket to throw and he's hit and hammeredat the 20 yardline and that's gonna be robert nkemdiche. prescott in trouble. he's in, gonna be sackedagain back at the 16 yardline as two rebels came pouring through. - [voiceover] the rebelswould emerge the victors for the second straight year,

proving that it's sweet tobring the egg bowl trophy to the game, but even sweeter to take it home. - [announcer] ole miss wins in starkville and has won the egg bowl in back-to-back years. the final score, here in starkville is 38, 27 rebels with the win.

(victory music) - ain't nothing to be said, man. the egg bowl is staying home, second year straight man. i love this team. we fight to the end and we egg bowl champs again, baby. - hey, man! great win! dominate the whole time, man!

hey, i'm just blessed. i'm just happy. - man, i'm just proud of you, man. i knew you prepared well, but the bottom line, baby, you hold the magnolia bowl trophy and the sweet egg bowl trophy. hey! like we said today, if you want it.
